Film Actor K B Ganeshkumar gets the additional portfolio of Cinema.

 Kerala Forest Minister and film actor K B Ganeshkumar has been given the additional portfolio of cinema.  The minister said that being in office will not be a hindrance to his acting career and added, this is probably the first time in the country that a film actor has been appointed to look after the film industry in a state.

He took the lead to discuss with all sections of the film industry and find practical solutions to their problems in the meeting held on 25^th May 2011 at Trivandrum.  He told as the decisions of the meeting, wide release will only be allowed for air conditioned theatres with clean toilet and cafeteria and sufficient time  will be given for all non air conditioned releasing theatres for renovation. 

In another meeting, he offered Kerala State Film Development Corporation is ready to construct theatres in municipalities and corporations if they providing land on lease base for at least twenty five years, KSFDC will start their theatre construction in Alleppey soon.  To curb piracy, the anti piracy sell will be set up in the state level.  Moreover, Chithranjali Studio will be modernized like Ramoji  film city in Hyderabad.
